Department activities:
While chalk and board teaching is the primary mode of teaching, charts, models, videos, OHP and power point presentations are also used as teaching aids. Students are encouraged to develop the habit of self study and and use of the library for reference work.
Students are offered advanced level theory and practical courses in various classical and modern areas of biochemistry with utmost emphasis on hands-on-training. Students are required to present critical reviews of various topics in the form of elaborate seminars. Students also take two courses (open elective) of their choice from other life sciences department on campus, which provides interdisciplinary flavor to the programme.
Several quality improvement events like seminars by external experts, symposiums, poster presentations, scientific essay writing, science quiz, etc are regularly organized. In addition, numerous co-curricular events, including annual educational trips, are organized for wholesome development of students.
a)Two Weeks Value added Courses:
Department of statistics had organized Two Weeks Value added Course on Computer literacy for life sciences to the students of I Semester (AY 2021-2022). The program is conducted every day after the regular class work is over. The duration of the class is adjusted for one or two hours between the periods 29-06-2022 to 14-7-2022. Students were guided and provided the necessary study material. At the end of the programme a grand test was conducted and it was evaluated. Certificates were issued to the participants. Dr.S.V.M.Vardhan is the resource person.
Department of Biochemistry had also organized Two Weeks Value added Course on Computational Biology to the students of IV semester (AY 2020-2021). The program is conducted after the regular class work is over. The duration of the class is adjusted for one or two hours between the periods 27.06.2022 to 07.07.2022. 14 students Participated in the program. Students were guided and provided the necessary study material. At the end of the programme a grand test was conducted and it was evaluated. Certificates were issued to the participants. Dr.S.V.M.Vardhan is the resource person.

So far the department has conducted one National level seminar on 25th Aug 2012, two day National level seminars on 1&2 Feb 2014 & 5&6 March 2014, one National level one day webinar on 22nd September 2020, one National level one day webinar on 24thJ July 2021 & one International level one day webinar on 08th Sep 2021.

d) Other activities:
World Planting Day: on the occasion of World Planting Day i.e, March 21st in Krishna University Dr. MR Appa Row College of PG Studies NSS Units- I and II are organized an event on tree plantation. The Principal and Prof. K.Pushpanjali, Head, Department of Statistics, Sri Krishnadevarya University, Anatapuramu, A.P. as a Guests planted near Library. All staff and students were present and planted plants in the ground.
