The Post Graduate Centre at Nuzvid (Mango town) was started by Andhra University in 17.11.1977 with the personal efforts of the Vice – Chancellor of Andhra University Late Prof.M.R.Appa Row, with three Post Graduate Courses viz., M.Sc. Applied Mathematics, M.Sc. Physics and M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry in 1977 under the category of aided courses and sanctioned Budgetary Posts of One Professor, One Associate Professor and Four Assistant Professors for aided Course. The Andhra University Post Graduate Courses were inaugurated by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri J.Vengal Rao garu, Prof.L.R.Row was the first Special Officer for the Post Graduate Centre, Nuzvid.
This Centre was merged with the Acharya Nagarjuna University in 1993 through an Ordinance issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The University has started three courses viz M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.Com and M.B.A. during the academic years 1997-1998, 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 respectively. The U.G.C. has sanctioned financial assistance in the various plan periods.
In 2011 the Post Graduate Centre was merged with Krishna University, Machilipatnam as per G.O MS.NO.7, dt.22.01.2011 issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Under Krishna University the centre have been started the following Post Graduate Courses in addition to the above Courses on self finance basis viz. M.Sc. Organic Chemistry (2013-2014), M.Sc. Mathematics (2013-2014), M.Sc. Physical Chemistry (2015-2016), M.Sc. Statistics (2015-2016).
Besides Post Graduate Courses, Ph.D./M.Phil Programmes are running in Krishna University Dr.MRAR .P.G. Centre, Nuzvid.
