The Department of Business Management is one of the flagship Departments and also the largest Department in terms of number of students in the University Campus College. This Department was established along with other old departments, in the inceptions year itself. The mission of the Department is to contribute to evaluation and enrichment of management education, applicable in various walks of life through disciplined research, consultancy, teaching and constant industrial collaboration and interaction. The Department specializes in providing ample employment opportunities to the students, as the students are oriented since their joining the programme.
It offers two year MBA programme with Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Financial Management and Entrepreneurship specializations with an intake of 60 students. Students are admitted in the department based on the ranks obtained in the State level Common Entrance Test (vide ICET) and subsequent admission counseling by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The Department started offering M.Com programme from the academic year 2014-15 with an intake of 40 students. The Department of Business Management also offers research programme leading to award of full-time and part-time M.Phil and Ph.D., programmes from the academic year 2009-10.
The Department of Business Management has good, efficient and committed faculty-to-student ratio, state of the art facilities, renowned faculty, strong focus on Postgraduate education balanced with leading-edge research, and emphasis on leadership, service, and ethics. Faculty and students often collaborate on projects. The faculty members of the Department have made notable contributions in the field of Commerce and Management. The Department of Business Management has awarded 19 Ph.D. and 5 M.Phil degrees so far. Faculty members of the department have published more than 150 research papers in the peer reviewed high impact factor journals. The Department has organized six National/International Seminars/Conferences. Three faculty members have ongoing one major and two minor research projects sanctioned by Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. The faculty members have received ten awards from National and International agencies for their contribution at the individual level. The alumni of this department occupied good positions in corporate sector.
The Department of Business Management is ambitious to procure some more useful projects from the Government and other agencies to achieve excellence for the benefit of the stakeholders. The Department is leaping forward from strength to strength as years to roll down.
